Fit Guide

White's boot lasts run large. This means most people should take a half size down from their natural shoe size, or Brannock measurement. On our highest arched lasts, a full size may be necessary, as the arch support shortens the overall length of the foot during wear.

Last Guide

Our most popular and longest tenured last, the 4811 is perhaps better known as the “Smokejumper Last”, the foundation of our famous wildland firefighting boot. The 4811 is deep in the toe-box, giving it a tough, square-jawed look that is emphasized by the medium-high arch and slightly narrower heel.

Construction

The hand-sewn stitchdown construction type is the lynchpin of our history, a process passed down from bootmaker to bootmaker since the beginning, way back in 1853. When hand-sewing a boot, our master bootmakers painstakingly last, welt, and bottom it by hand. Hand-lasting ensures a customized fit, hand-welting a durable and water resistant seam, and hand bottoming an all-leather arch that becomes more comfortable by the day.

Buying a White’s hand-sewn stitchdown boot is stepping into a long history of craft, dedication, and old-world quality that is increasingly rare, and enduringly valuable.

Work hard; wear White's.
