Introducing The "No Caulked Boots Allowed" Graphic
Heavyweight 100% Cotton
The advice of every bar brawler in the early days was to never brawl with a logger who wore caulked boots (pronounced as corked boots). Caulks are steel spikes nailed and screwed through leather and designed to sink into logs and give equal footing to loggers who work in life-threatening conditions every day. It takes nothing for the nail-like spikes to break through skin and shin bones and bring a man down to his knees. The last hope for a brawler who ignored the advice of old timers was when bars, such as the Silver Dollar Bar in Missoula, MT, hung a sign outside the door that said “No Caulk Boots Allowed.” It wasn’t just because the boots drew blood, it was because they chewed up the wood floors and left scars in the footrests and barstools.
