Every detail reflects the rugged, no‑shortcuts ethos of the woods—from the tall 10” upper to the oversized hardware and heavy leather that can take a beating and keep working. At the center of this build is Nail Bottom Construction, a method of bootmaking preserved by White’s Boots. Each pair is hand‑lasted, hand‑bottomed, with the midsole secured by a matrix of clinched nails rather than modern adhesives. This traditional technique creates a boot that’s exceptionally rebuildable, incredibly stable under load, and proven across generations of loggers and fallers who demanded gear that could survive the mountains, the weather, and the work. It’s the construction that made White’s legendary—and it’s the foundation of The Buckin’ Special.

Nail Bottom Construction

Nail Bottom is a construction type traditionally used in producing calked logging boots and lineman boots - White’s has been using it since the beginning. When bottoming the boot, the bootmaker folds the vamp under the last, instead of outward, securing it in place with nails.
